NCEdCloud

The NCEdCloud is a state-level Identity Access Management and Single Sign On service for staff and students. Voyager uses the NCEdCloud to manage access to several applications, including Canvas and Powerschool. This means that staff and students can use one username and password for all integrated applications! Parents and community members do not use NCEdCloud.
 

Integrated Applications

These applications are integrated with NCEdCloud. Accounts for staff and students are automatically created after employment onboarding or enrollment, dependent upon the usage scope of the app. For example, students do not get NCEES accounts. Staff and students use one username and password, their NCEdCloud credentials, to log into all applications.

To access these applications, log into NCEdCloud at http://my.ncedcloud.org/, then click the application icon from the list.

Clever

Clever is a tool that we use to connect additional applications to NCEdCloud. Staff and student accounts are also automatically created, dependent upon usage scope, and NCEdCloud credentials are used for these applications as well. A full list of apps available for integration are available at https://clever.com/app-gallery. To request a new app be integrated, please contact Evan Menchini. Please note that many of these apps require the purchase of a license.

To access Clever apps,  log into NCEdCloud at http://my.ncedcloud.org/, click Clever, then click the application icon from the new list that appears.

Clever Badges

Clever Badges are QR codes tied to student accounts, which they can use to log into Clever integrated apps instead of typing in a username or password. Please contact Evan Menchini for badge issues.

To log in with a badge:
  1. Go to Voyager's Clever portal: https://clever.com/in/voyageracademy
  2. Click the QR code / badge icon
  3. Hold the badge up to the front-facing camera, and center it in the highlighted area.

Account Claiming

If you have never used the NCEdCloud, you must first claim your account. This is only done one time, not each year.

Staff:
  1. Visit this page: http://my.ncedcloud.org/
  2. Click "Claim My Account"
  3. Make sure the policy is set to "LEA Employee Claim Policy". Click "Next"
  4. Enter your birthday, LEA/Charter Code (32L), and Staff UID (your Powerschool ID number)
  5. Enter the captcha code and click "Next"
  6. Choose a password according to the listed requirements and click "Next".
  7. Answer at least five of the challenge questions. These are used for self-service password reset.
  8. Click "Next" and you are done.

Students:
  1. Visit this page: http://my.ncedcloud.org/
  2. Click "Claim My Account"
  3. Change the policy to "LEA Student Claim Policy". Click "Next"
  4. Enter your birthday, LEA/Charter Code (32L), grade, and your student UID (student ID number).
  5. Enter the captcha code and click "Next"
  6. Choose a password according to the listed requirements and click "Next".
  7. Answer at least five of the challenge questions. These are used for self-service password reset.
  8. Click "Next" and you are done.

Managing Student Accounts

Teachers are able to assist in managing student accounts. This is done from the "My Students" screen. To get to the "My Students" screen:
  1. Log into your teacher account at https://my.ncedcloud.org
  2. When you see the Applications page, click "Profiles" in the left-hand vertical menu.
  3. Click the "My Students" tab along the top.
From here, you can view student information, including usernames (which are the state ID numbers), and default password. You can also reset a student's password.

Resetting Student Passwords

For forgotten usernames or passwords, you should first encourage students to use the self-service recovery tools, available under the "Need Help?" link.

Teachers have the ability to reset NCEdCloud passwords to help students log into Powerschool, Canvas, and other integrated applications. Teachers can also look up a student's UID (which is used as the username) if he or she has forgotten it.
If a new student is having trouble claiming his or her account, you can bypass the account claim process by setting the password and having he or she log in directly.
  1. Log into your teacher account at https://my.ncedcloud.org
  2. When you see the Applications page, click "Profiles" in the left-hand vertical menu.
  3. Click the "My Students" tab along the top.
  4. Search for the student, then tick the box next to his or her name.
  5. Click "Change Password".
  6. You have several options here:
    • Type a new password or use the default password
      If you elect to use the default password, this is shown in the "Default Password" column in the "My Students" window.
    • Force the student to change the password on the next login
      Check this for older students for security reasons; for younger students, you may leave unchecked for ease of access.
  7. Click "Save".
  8. Share the new password with the student and help him or her log in at https://my.ncedcloud.org
